After dabbling in the arts and psychology, the job led him to project management with an emphasis on education, global health and scientific investigation. Co-founder of the IHCAI Institute, he has been his Director of Program Development for more than 20 years. In the The Institute is currently affiliated with Harvard Medical School and is the headquarters for Central America and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean of Cochrane, leading organization in the production of high quality systematic reviews world-class evidence-based healthcare. He also maintains active programs for medical students. with twenty universities in North America and Europe. He has been part of work teams in the achievement of projects for “7th Framework Program for Research” of the European Community and has cogenerated processes and products for the UK Wellcome Trust United in the field of scientific dissemination with global projection.
In the last decade, his main focus of interest has been the generation of health technology assessments (HTA) with the applied principles of evidence-based medicine (EBM-MBE) and the GRADE methodology; as well as the generation of novel methods for the teaching of medical Spanish for professionals and future primarily English-speaking health professionals, both from face-to-face mode such as E-learning.
Within Cochrane, he has contributed to the sustainability and projection of the organization from the perspective of “Cochrane consumers” under the premise that it is possible to generate critical thinking and criteria informed by the best available scientific evidence by part of the users of health services, to generate an impact in decision-making, both in Clinical Practice and in Sanitary Management.
