IHCAI INSTITUTE was originally created to foster international health opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and for transcultural experiences as a part of the medical education curriculum. Currently, IHCAI Foundation is growing exponentially and the original objectives have been extended to different fields in medical, epidemiological, as well as health research and education. However, IHCAI Foundation remains committed to the original goal to include senior medical and health students, as well as young professionals in all its programs.
IHCAI Training Programs and Clerkships
One of IHCAI’s objectives is to provide high quality training. Availability of the programs depend on the region providing the trainings. If you want to know what programs are available, check out the individual region program sites:
Emphasis on international health programs for students and residents of medicine, PAs, pharmacy and other health disciplines. Most programs apply to senior students but there are also options for junior students. Medical Spanish is one of our strengths as it is a very robust course worldwide.
Opportunities for all levels of Spanish of overseas students in health!
Specialized in training for health professionals in methodological aspects of the MBE and other areas. Emphasis on online training opportunities. For now, does not receive foreign students for rotations.
IHCAI’s Clinical Practice Guidelines Development Program
IHCAI Institute has experience in the construction of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) at the level of Costa Rica, Central America and the Caribbean. In each development, you want your guides to be of high quality. To fulfill these purposes, it uses the tools offered by GRADE and Cochrane to try to ensure that the guides contain the most robust and up-to-date evidence possible. Likewise, it has developed a rigorous methodology called RAPADAPTE, inspired by the precepts of the international initiative of the ADAPTE Group. Both this methodology and some of its guides have been founding instruments of other CPGs at a global level due to their strength and prestige.
